Saturn in Aries

Saturn enters Aries on Friday, February 13 2026 - as if his ingress wasn’t ominous enough (just kidding, this isn’t another fear-mongering article) - and will stay there until April 12, 2028. This time, Saturn is in Aries for good, lifting the Piscean fog once and for all so that we may finally see what’s on the horizon and throw ourselves at it with all our might. At least that’s what we hoped, but Saturn will pull us back and say, ‘not so fast’.

Saturn rules limits, responsibilities, hardship, the hard work we do to get where we need to go, and the hard work required to build something that will stand the test of time. Saturn also rules time, because it takes time to mature, and Saturn is about maturation. Saturn’s transits are a test of withstandability in the themes of the house it is passing through. Saturn’s entry into a new house often brings an initiation of sorts, so the themes of this house are suddenly catapulted into our consciousness, and we have no choice but to face where we are lacking, where there is disorder, lack of structure, lack of discipline and sneaky, crippling fear. Saturn will force you to look at it all in the face and do the work required to not just put the matters of the house back in their place, but to build a whole new structure that will carry you through the next 30 years.

For the next two years, Saturn will be in the sign of Aries, a cardinal fire sign known for its impulsivity, drive, courage and boldness. As the first sign of the zodiac, it’s associated with new beginnings, with taking risks, with fighting for what we want. It is through the Aries archetype that we assert our will to do and to experience, without overthinking, without emotionality, just through pure, raw, unfiltered action. Aries wants to go fast while Saturn wants to go slow. Their natures are quite contradictory and will thus require us to find some middle ground. Saturn is, after all, in its fall in the sign of Aries. This means that this is one of the most difficult places for Saturn to be in. So, how can we make the best of a not-so-great transit?

A movie that comes to mind when I think of Saturn in Aries is the classic ‘Karate Kid’. The movie follows an adolescent boy who is taken under the wing of a sensei after being targeted by a group of bullies. In this way, the boy is initiated into the art of fighting and self-defense. Throughout the movie and in the end, we see that what made his training so much more powerful than that of his counterparts wasn’t necessarily the physical fighting part, as much as it was the life wisdom imparted by his sensei in the arts of integrating balance, compassion, and discipline into the practice. In this example, the bullies and the sensei are two faces of the same coin. Saturn in Aries can take so many forms. Still, there will usually be some challenging situation that calls us to develop or balance the Aries energy in our lives. While Aries might be eager to throw kicks and punches, Saturn will temper its impetus and impart some wisdom so that, over time and with steady practice, they can pack so much more punch.

Saturn in Aries can also express as being blocked or limited in our independence and autonomy. Saturn in Aries has to do with developing and growing into our courage, self-assertion, and fighting spirit, but usually this doesn’t happen without first being confronted with a situation that requires us to call upon these qualities. Aries is also associated with crises. Even though we might feel confronted, vulnerable, or scared in some area of our lives, our capacity to stand up for ourselves, fight, and take action will be determined by the quality of the inner work we have done in respect to facing our fears, controlling our impulses, developing patience, and strengthening our minds and bodies. In other words, it’s very much about embodying leadership. If we haven’t been doing this work, it might feel more difficult at first, but Saturn will put the necessary pressure on us to do it now. Ultimately, Saturn in Aries will call us to master ourselves, and if we heed the call, towards the end of this transit, we will be left with some profound wisdom about how to move in the world.

I have created some EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as tapping meditations, for each of the 12 houses, so you actually have something to work with as the fears, anxieties, and insecurities start creeping in. You just need to find which house - or houses if you use Placidus - Saturn is transiting in your chart and try the respective meditation or any other you feel called to, for that matter. I know a lot is going on for all of us, so this is a small offering to the collective and a way to say thank you for being here and reading my work.
